Golden Gai, Toyko

This piece was inspired by the Golden Gai area of Tokyo and towns along the Nakasendo Way. The Golden Gai is a narrow network of alleys barely wide enough for a person where each set of stairs leads to bars that hold four or five people.

Isometric projection done with Sakura Micron pens and watercolour on an 8x10 sketchbook.

Some detail from the final piece, inspiration photos, and a photo of the sketchbook piece.
